Groove Tray

As a designer, I’m at my happiest when I’m pushing materials to their limits. I find myself constantly experimenting with unconventional forms, unique textures, and new uses for the beautiful wood that I use.

I made the Groove Tray to hold my pen and my ruler—two of the objects I reach for most in my day-to-day design work. You might find it better suited to holding jewelry, sunglasses, business cards, or spare change. That’s the beauty of unconventional objects: With no predetermined rules for how to use them, they can take many different forms for many different people. How would you use yours?
